Description
In course of the present upgrade programs for the FLASH FEL and the PETRA synchrotron radiation light source, we pursue developments of new undulator sources, which require dedicated new magnetic measurement equipment.
For the characterization of future cryogenic permanent magnet undulators, a SAFALI-like in-situ measurement bench is currently being developed; it shall comprise a cryo- and vacuum-compatible Hall-probe and stretched wire bench. Besides, several smaller measurement stands are presently constructed or upgraded also in terms of the electronic data acquisition chain in order to provide the necessary tools for measurement and tuning of APPLE-III undulators for FLASH and permanent magnets for PETRA-IV. In particular, the previous good experience with efficient low-noise ADCs will be extended for these applications.
The poster summarizes the present status of the different ongoing developments.
