Description
The series production of the CIEMAT´s MCBXF nested dipole orbit corrector is being carried out in the Spanish industry, specifically at Elytt Energy premises. The overall process of the MCBXF assembly consists of three clearly differentiated steps, i.e. Inner dipole assembly, outer dipole assembly and complete magnet assembly. After the completion of each stage it is necessary to perform a control by measuring the magnetic field quality at room temperature. This is a series production follow-up work necessary to ensure the conformity of the assembled parts before proceeding to subsequent steps that are difficult to reverse. To this purpose, a warm magnetic measurement bench was designed by CIEMAT and CERN and manufactured at CERN prior to its shipment to the indutry presmises. Its control and data acquisition software was developed using the Fast Framework for Magnetic Measurements (FFMM) developed at CERN. Its post-processing software offers the possibility of analyzing the data in different reference systems. This functionality is particularly valuable for the MCBXF magnet since it consists of two nested dipoles arranged in orthogonal reference systems with respect to each other. We present here its design and main functionalities.
