Description
In this talk, a new measurement method called static-sample magnetometry (SSM), is presented, with the aim of measuring the magnetic properties of feebly magnetic materials. The method is based on the flux-distortion detection principle, was realized with instrumentation already available in-house, and achieves a relative permeability resolution of 10^{-5}, comparable with the vibrating sample magnetometry (VSM), the state-of-the-art solution. The uncertainty was evaluated by Monte Carlo simulations, and is in the order of 10^{-4}. Three case studies are presented to highlight the performance of the method, capable of working with specimens having various shapes and dimensions.
